Juan politely asks Diana:
> Being a man, and not versed in gender studies, I have difficulty trying
> to understand these arguments. Could you elaborate a bit, and present
> some specific examples of "masculine systems of representation which
> disappropriate her from her relation to herself and to other women?"
Penny asks:
> And could you please do it in private email, rather than on the list?
Does anyone else have a problem with Penny's request? It seems to me
that it is quite possible for Diana, Juan and anyone else to discuss
gender issues in regard to Pynchon in a civilised and non-flaming
manner, and that this mailing list is a good forum for such
discussions. If anyone doesn't want to read these discussions, why
then, just erase them.
