A few months ago I offered my own rough stats on TRP's output,
a little more flattering to his productivity.  Roughly, if one 
takes his total wordage over his career, it works out to the 
equivalent of one "normal-sized" (approx. 60K words) novel every
three or four years.  Quite a respectable pace for most "fine"
writers.  Admittedly, Stephen King can write 60K of execrable
dross in three days.....
