Yet another extremely laudatory (and very long) review (by Jackson Lears) 
of Jeffrey Meikle's book, this time in the 12/2 New Republic.  Such words
and phrases as "scholarly," "superabundantly thorough," "remarkable
achievement," and "profound in its meditations" are tossed about
prodigiously.  And the end of the review mentions Jeffrey's reference to
our man! I'll have to read the book.
