Only that I hated _The Difference Engine_, and found in it considerably
less social commentary than your average 'cyberpunk' novel, especially
Sterling's.  On the other hand, Neil Stephenson's explorations of
"Neo-Voctorian" mores in _The Diamon Age_ were delightful..
