It was, as I suspect J. knows, none other than the Kenosha Kid hisself,
ole Orson Welles, who filmed _The Trial_, and who seemed to be 
caught up in the stereotyping of Kafka as some kinda long-faced 
*serious* writer when he did so. It's a very beautiful film but 
lacking, IMHO, the humour of the novel.
