It happened again. Now I'll try to send this straight to pynchon-l instead
of "replying" to Henry, my English namesake. I want to add that the whole
musical structure of the Television piece "Marquee Moon", with Tom's and
Richard's dialogic, not dialectic, guitars, is Orphic, sure, but as in
_GR_, the revelation never takes place, tensions will not ease off.

The UT server declined to send the message below yesterday. It
*may* agree to do it in five days, it announced in a warning
boomerang message, but I'd like to get it out of the way.

Yet more VU-like NYC bands may be Pynchonesque, too. _Gravity's Rainbow_
(the best book to me) and Television's _Marquee Moon_ (the best record to
me) seem both warped offspring of American Transcendentalism. Since it is,
after all, *Cadillac* that takes "Marquee Moon's" Orphic narrator to the
graveyard.
