Yet more VU-like NYC bands may be Pynchonesque, too. _Gravity's Rainbow_
(the best book to me) and _Marquee Moon_ (the best record to me) seem both
warped offspring of American Transcendentalism. Since it is, after all,
*Cadillac* that takes "Marquee Moon's" Orphic narrator to the graveyard.
