Again because of my excitement (I feel like those two cartoon goofballs
in the bugs episode, hot dog and hamburger, stranded on that island
seeing that ship--a ship, it's a ship!) took a look at some other famous
M & D's:

John Young Mason--secretary of the navy under Tyler and Polk; minister to
France till 1859

John Mason-founder of New Hampshire, descendants involved in many land
disputes throughout New England.

James Murray Mason-CSA diplomat, staunch supporter slavery, wrote
Fugitive slave act, advocated seccession, commissioner to England under
Davis, caught at sea by the union in 62 in Boston till the end of the
war.

George Mason--most affluent of Virginia planters; opponent of british
colony policy; fought against centralization of power w/i colonies, did
not sign constitution

Thomas Dixon--american novelist, militant southerner--wrote novel The
Clansman, movie Birth of a Nation is based upon

Anyone catch the article in Sunday Times about a trip to the Ronald
Reagan Library and Museum, it's theme being the 60's--no drugs, no war,
just these groovy hippies wearing blue jeans walking around saying
howsdy, peace, and all that, a recreation of a nuclear bunker, mementos
and memorials to when Ronnie was the gov, descriptions of civil rights
and immigrant gains, Sonny and Cher mannequins, Laugh-In promos (all of
which RR vetoed or opposed-but they don't mention that)

I'll shut up now
