Heartily agree here. I remember the first time I heard Bob Dylan while
stoned in 1964. Everything became clarified. We are all mostly in highly
accelerated states of consciousness because of the forced-march pace of
our survival struggle. The artist creates his world one stroke at a
time. I thought Chrissie's comments about Tom's frame by frame technique
important. He's like Spenser, very mediaeval in his approach--panel
after panel of illuminated tableaux. We don't know how The Faerie Queen
read to contemporaries in its time. Could be lots of finger-poppin'
there that we can't appreciate. Same with Tom.
