Personal epithets? This really advances your cause.

Real easy solution here: either present a sustained, logical argument
against his posts or just delete all messages from Jules Siegel before
reading them. I suppose that as long as you're subscribed to PYNCHON-L
you can't keep his messages from occupying space in your email box, but if
he gets into your brain, well, that's your own fault.

Though I don't completely agree with davemarc's post at least I can
respect it; he gave reasons rather than words like "creepy" and "barf".

Again, where does anyone get the notion that Siegel is speaking for
everyone on this list, everyone in the world, every whoever?

Okay, yes, he used the words "our", "us" and "Anglo-European". Perhaps he
should have prefaced everything with an explicit "IMHO", but that's how I
understood it to begin with, as his opinion.

But to refer to someone as "creepy" or a "misogynist" is simply
name-calling.

I really think this is all a bit of an over-reaction...but then, perhaps
I'm over-reacting myself.
