What?

>Two questions:

>(1) Okay, so it's awfully damn clever and all that, but is it any good?

I liked "Life: A User's Manual", so I was excited to see the translation
of

"A Void".

I gave up after about 80 pages. However, I'm still looking forward to the

follow-up novel, in which 'e' is the only vowel employed.

I would recommend anything by Perec though I've only read Life and A
Void. All his books have been released including the follow-up (is it
called W?). Hope to take a stab at those at some point.

Another book I picked but haven't finished is _Love and Sleep_ by John
Crowley. A character named Pierce fancies himself a member (from birth)
of an invisible secret society interested in alchemy and twisting history
(or unveiling the gauze from what non-members would call history) so as
to speak with angels, transform the world, you know those types. Lots of
references to Bruno and John Dee but the first hundred pages are pretty
slow going and I gave up. Book flap called Crowley the next Cormac
McCarthy--god knows why.
