Incidentally, speaking of TRP's intro to BDSLILLUTM, my travels took me to 
Ithica (home of Pynchon's & Farina's alma mater Cornell), where I couldn't 
help wondering about the real-life equivalents of Farina's settings, or 
reflecting, "Yeah . . . I bet Pynchon used to walk up this very street . . . 
I bet he took a crap in this very stall . . .")
