Incoming mail.

It's for Pirate, as the phone call informs him. "None of *my* friends are
that clever."

It's in invisible ink, to be developed with his semen, as the later
sequence with the Beardsleyesque image of Scorpia shows.

It's from Them. Who They? Why, the Rocket-Cartel. Who They? The World.
Who They? Well, Skippy, an answer is more than you deserve.

Did the message ride in the 00000? Was there another message for Pirate in
it? Or was *that* message only for Infant Tyrone? Which of Pirate's
rockets is the 00000--whose impact site Tyrone visits, and is politely
warned away? That is, we know when in Slothrop's narrative it occurs; but
was this the same rocket that Pirate saw from the roof greenhouse?

Has anyone thought about _Alice Through The Looking Glass_ and the
question, "Is this Alice's dream, or the Red King's?" in the context of the
opening dream-sequence?
