To be perfectly honest, I've always had a difficult time trying to
visualize the sequence of events in this opening dream sequence.  This,
combined with the adenoid scene coming so soon after, seems to make GR, at
least for me, one of the most difficult books to enter.  I recall the
first time a read it, thinking "what in the hell is this?"

As for the dream, my first question is what is "...the carriage, which is
built on several levels..."?
