In law, a judgment from which there is no appeal is a "final judgment". THE

BTW, on the subject of British covers, my Picador paperback, picked up in
London in 1981, has a drawing on the cover of a a figure which from the
waist down is a woman in panties, garter belt, and stockings (left garter
unsnapped) (cut off at the bottom mid-thigh) and from the waste up is a
missile. This is against a solid black background, "THOMAS PYNCHON" and
"GRAVITY'S RAINBOW" above the figure.
