Speaking only for myself, I don't see a particular need to isolate myself.
I routinely read SPOILERS and reviews of books and films before, during
and/or after having experienced the subject matter first-hand.  I do
this because I find that my experience is usually not spoiled by too
much information, but that it can be enhanced, tempered or heightened by
having particular contexts of information and/or judgment to work with.

So, I'll look forward  to what foax say, but will take such advice--as always--
with a shaker of salt (and a twist of lemon).
