NYC pynchon bar brawl

     Apart from caressing, sniffing and otherwise fondling not one but TWO 
     copies of M&D (the second one sat next to me at dinner in the Cafe 
     Mogador), I must say that the biggest kick of the evening was learning 
     that the charming and indefatigable Eric Alan Weinstein is originally 
     from Brooklyn -- Canarsie, even! -- birthplace of Richard Romeo and 
     Chris Karatnytsky.
     
     Sez Eric, natch, in Britspeak:  "Cah-NAH-see."

     Sez Chris, in P-speak, "Everything is connected."
     
     My thanks to all who came to greet Eric.  I appreciate your 
     friendliness.  I hope we'll meet again on the 27th, but, hmm, 
     Mittelwerk might show up, he sez?  Oh, yeah right -- there's a better 
     chance of Chomsky making an appearance.
