Howdy foax,
To celebrate the publication of MASON & DIXON, those responsible for the Pomona
Pynchon Page on the World Wide Web have cleaned up the house for company.
We've vacuumed the carpets, emptied the ashtrays, straightened the picture
frames, and put out lots of fresh goodies for y'all to enjoy.
We've got:
something OLD -- check out the article called "Togetherness" that
Thomas Pynchon wrote for a Boeing aerospace magazine in 1960 (in the
"Uncollected" area)
something NEW -- like, try some of the tasty on-line resources
surrounding MASON & DIXON like pigs-in-a-blanket (on our "page of Pynchonian
links")
something BORROWED -- as f'rinstance the most literate account of a
Pynchon sighting we've seen so far (off the "Biography" page)
something BLUE -- the Lycos "Top 5%" is the bluest badge on a shelf of
honors and accolades (see the blushing "page about this page").
Actually there's lots more that's new. New blurbs by Pynchon, the full version
of the Wehrner von Braun essay quoted in the epigraph to _Gravity's Rainbow_, a
new version of the David Curtis article & a new essay by Zephyr Stuart, new
navigational features, &c, &c. Even a much-requested explanation of why the
real Claremont California is set in fictional San Narciso.
As B/4, all the old goodies, like the V-2 rocket that launches, Andrew Dinn's
search engine to the archives of PYNCHON-L, thoughts on Pynchon's prophecies of
cyberspace, & sound files of Pynchonesque music are also on display & up for
grabs. Drop on by, have a point & click!
