I really don't understand what you are trying to accomplish here.  Why
would you think that a rhetoric-laden message like that would fly with this
list?  Since I am not involved with the material at hand I can't make any
legal objections -- but I can say that your message smacks of something
odd.  You talk about 'pending legislation' that will open our emails to
free use...  what garbage!  I heard about some "pending legislation" that
would make it legal for me to light up a joint while walking down
Pennsylvania Ave naked but I'm not planning on doing such a thing.  And I
don't know what you are talking about w/ the "no profit will be made by us
that isn't deseverved" line -- content is the primary component of any
publishing project -- for photos you need model releases and the permission
of the photographer.  No mention was made that the conversation that was
occuring over this listserve system was to be used in a project -- I think
that means you must request consent.  I think that you made a mistake by
not seeking permission sooner, but I think that you really screwed up by
trying to slide so many issues by with one placating half-truth after
another.  my opinion, of course.
