I didn't post anything during the Jules Siegel weeks, in fact automatically
deleted about 90% of them except for the good flames, so I'm a non-entity
in this regard, but I'm waiting for the next book, _Who is Jules
Siegel...and why did he take off with my pynchon-L post?_ ala Siegel,
Jules. "Who is Thomas Pynchon . . . and why did he take off with my Wife?,"
Playboy 34 (March 1977): 97,122, 168-74. Any takers ?, I hereby relinquish
all rights to this title. It might make a good showcase for the copyright
of posts or the ownership question.
Two other things: If anyone hasn't read _Longitude_ yet I recommend it
belatedly, but it isn't really THAT well written. The second thing is, in
_Longitude_ there's the Royal Astronomer Nevil Maskelyne, but I have this
nagging thought that I read something recently, a book or just in the
newspaper, that had a Hugh Maskelyne as a character and since all my books
are packed away I can't check them. I'm thinking Gaddis, but I don't know?
Just idle thought while I'm writing my PhD thesis and waiting for M&D,
damn, couldn't Henry Holt publish M&D a little later like May 30th or so?,
I'm not done yet.
Peter
