The name 'Jean Crapaud' may be an allusion to _Moby-Dick_, chapter
91, "The Pequod Meets the Rose-Bud" (which I mentioned during the
GRGR Kenosha/Orson Welles/Citizen Kane/Rosebud extravaganza).  Stubb
refers to the French ship's crew as 'Crappoes of Frenchmen.'  I believe
Crappo is slang for the French crapaud, meaning toad.  Some may think
it refers to Brigadier Pudding's culinary specialty and/or the
electrified toad lurking in the urinal in _GR_.  I'll wait till I finish
the book; I mention it for the sake of (unattainable, natch) completeness.
