Foax:

1. Unless my sodden brain has finally utterly failed, the quote about Hodge
the cat's unshootability is the epigraph for Nabokov's PALE FIRE.
2. The New Yorker picked up the story about the Double Gloucester Cheese
Casualties in last week's issue, under the rubric "There Will Always Be An
England."
3. There was an interesting review of M&D in The New York Review Of (Each
Other's) Books very recently. Mostly positive, with emininently quotable
last paragraph for paperback version in last line, and a picture of the
Post Mark'd West. Included a discussion of the Learned English Dog, though
- curiously - the reviewer called Fang just "a Learned Dog". Weird.

cheers, Erik
