"Slain" as in "murdered" or "killed," which connects up with the Chinese
meaning of "sha" and its relation to the Visto of cut trees. A while back I
posted two meanings for "sha" depending on the ideogram used to write it
and its pronunciation in the putonghua dialect (Mandarin). Written with one
hanzi character and pronounced with the first tone (a level, even sound),
"sha" means "murder" or kill. Written with another character and pronounced
with the third (dipping) tone, "sha" means stupid or foolish.

Cordially,
Doug

Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.
