"walking" or "waking"

Well,
        I heard numerous typos were corrected for the third printing (april
1973) of the original Viking Hardcover. I have never been able to find one
of the corrections. So checking the shelf,

1st printing Viking hardcover 1973 (107) 'waking'
2nd printing Viking trade paper 1973(107) 'waking'
1st printing Bantam paperback 1974 (124) 'waking'
2nd Viking hardcover 1991 (107) 'waking'
