Claremont man dies as car hits boulder

A 43-year-old Claremont man was killed Wednesday night when he drove his car
into a boulder on Mount Baldy Road, south of Shinn Road, California Highway
Patrol officials said.

Brian Stonehill, who was traveling south in his 1983 Jaguar, crossed over the
northbound lane and drove into a large boulder on the side of the road at
about 5 p.m., the CHP reported.

The car was fully engulfed in flames when CHP officers arrived.

The cause of the crash has not been determined.
