Book Publishing/Selling

As I type I'm listening to a radio show ("Radio Nation") which is
interviewing the author of an article in the current _The Nation_ weekly
about the current state of book publishing and selling. One interesting
tidbit he is discussing is that there are now eight conglomerates that
control book publishing.  He's also discussing Borders and B&N.  It sounds
very interesting but I've not yet read it.
