>196.2 'Antimony' OED gives no derivation for this element's name

Book of Popular Science says:-

name derived from Latin antimonium, chemical symbol (Sb) from Latin stibium
(mark). Recognised by ancients in compounds, known as a metal by about
beginning of C17.

the stuff is apparently

very brittle with flaky, crystalline texture and metallic luster

so chimes sound unlikely

btw the same source has details of a diy at home test for the presence of
Vitamin A which invoves the use of crystals of antimony trichloride!
