Pynchon 1st Editions

     I was in a rare/used bookstore (Riverrun) in Hastings on Hudson NY 
     (about 15 miles north of NYC) yesterday that had 1sts of V and COL49.  
     COL49 was in very good shape, with dustjacket, for $300.  The copy of 
     V was missing the dj, but otherwise vg, for $250.  (I might have 
     transposed the prices).  The books were just sitting on the shelf, 
     waiting to be handled.
     
     They also had a 1st of the Viking Compass GR paperback for $50, but no 
     hc GR.
     
     Amazing stock of books in the shop, with many of my faves represented 
     (e.g. hardcover of Gaddis' Recognitions, lots of Raymond Chandler 
     hcs).  
     
     So many books, so little time and money.
