Quite some time ago a generally a propos GR, several luminaries held 
forth on Pynchon's mixture of "high" and "low" genres, culture, and so on.

At the risk of reopening this discussion, I have to confess that I 
laughed out loud at "De Litteraria Expeditione et Soforthia," taking "et 
soforthia" as "et soforth" along the lines of "et cetera." -- And I'm 
also fond of franglais.
