what i been reading (and it ain't pretty)

     Big rain storm, actually - the one where the McDonald's commercials 
     kids are going down to central Illinois for a big reunion.
     
     Too COY somehow for me to stomach.  IMO only, of course.

What was that last story, as I generally enjoyed the book. That 
wasn't the long one with the dust storm, was it? I liked that one's 
voice, and thought it would hold up well to being read aloud; the 
eponymous and Jeopardy stories as well. 
     
If that is part of what "voice" is, then I believe that DFW has a 
lotta voice.
