Steven Maas, who may or may not be related to a famous former auto
dealer/DJ/record exec sometimes known as 'Mucho,' quoted this:
> I'll let excerpts from Jarmusch's liner notes for the CD speak:
>
> "DEAD MAN is the story of a young man's journey, both physically and
> spiritually, into very unfamiliar terrain . . . circumstances transform
> [him] into . . . a man whose physical existence is slowly slipping away .
> . . his eyes are opened to the fragility that defines the realm of the
> living . . . it is as though he passes through the surface of a mirror,
> and emerges into a previously-unknown world that exists on the other
> side."
Hmm... does this sound approximately like a Thanatoid to anybody
else? Has Jarmusch been riding around Northern California w/ guys
named Vato and Blood? Think I'll track this flick down (Steve,
thanks for the recommendation!), but bone up on that Bardo Thodol
first.
