Or if you want heroin-laden Australians doing the same genre, Nick Cave's
_Murder Ballads_ is a hell of an album.  A strangely homoerotic version of
"Stagger Lee," the twelve-minute-long-and-tedious-but-still-compelling
"O'Malley's Bar," and, my personal favorite, "Curse of Millhaven."
