flynt and pynchon

Would someone please tell me why the discussion of porn and flynt is seen to
be a digression. 
Everything about pynchon fits into this topic since GRs main symbol is a
penis and V's are a women spread thighs-the Western grail. Lets not kid
ourselves, this is pynchon, and he weaves the psychosexual dynamic into every
aspect of GR .
Descending into a discussion about whether porn is good or bad is beneath
everyone here. It is like arguing whether The Rocket is good or bad. 
 The challenge is to not fall into a Falwellian or feminist debate  but to
really discuss sexual conditioning, sexual motivation, definitions of self
and gender, popcultural conditioning, war/death/violence as   sexual turn-on,
the roots of repression, Ecstasy and  release(sexual and religious ),  as
seen in GRAVITYS RAINBOW. 
The flynt movie is as good a starting point as any to get into these issues,
but as a female, I am frankly very tired of the same old debates being
rehashed about whos looking at who. We know that stuff already and if we can
look into PYnchon we may take it to another level.
