Gaseous Question..

I was reading through V. last nite and got to the Schopenhauer (?)
passage where he gives Esther her big Nose Job. It was quite a long
gruesome description and I wondered if TP gets explicit about 
human gaseous waste (a.k.a. FART!) anywhere in his books. Can anyone
help me out. I realize the nature of this strange request, but 
it seems like Pynchon talks about everything in his books, so
he's gotta hit this somewhere.
