This reminds me of Peter Schickele's "William Tell Overture Sportscast."
I can see the Spike Jones influence there.

He appeared on NPR the other day and talked about teh influences on his PDQ Bach
compositions. NPR played a recent recording by the OK Chorale of the cantata
*How many psychiatrists does it take..."

The recitative begins--

"How many psychiatrists does it take to chaneg a light bulb?"

And the oratorio responds--

   "One"

"But the light bulb must really want to be changed."

                "One"

"But the light bulb must really want to be changed."

        "One"

           "One"

    "One"

                "One"

"Oooonne. But the light bulb ..."

And so on. Nice counterpoint to it. <g>

BTW, my uncle (who passed away last year) left us his love for Tom
Lehrer. I used to serenade my dates when I was younger. Every once
and a while, I would throw in "I Hold Your Hand in Mine" just to
see what kind of response I got.

Guess they were pretty amused...
