My home PC uses the Linux operating system developed in large part by
Heikki's compatriot Linus Torvalds and distributed with most of the GNU
tools and programs produced by the Free Software Foundation. Linux is a
UNIX-like OS. GNU is a recursive acronym--GNU not UNIX.

It's all a lot of fun and as Mike says offers a momentary idyll from the
clutches of the software biggies.
