An interesting tome to examine which I recently came across is "The Star
Almanac for Land Surveyors", which is published annually by H.M. Nautical
Almanac Office.

The HM obviously stands for "Her/His Majesty's", and it is a British
publication.  I haven't had time to look into when this publikation was
first issued, but I imagine Mssrs. Chas. Mason and J'r'm'h Dixon might have
somehow been connected.

Anyone know?
