I think most men are generally attracted to young women, and that attraction
can in some cases be toward teenage girls, even those as young as 13.  I
won't bother arguing the point re: biology vs. sociology, but biologically,
some 13 year old girls CAN be considered "women" regardless of society's
rules.  So it is only natural that some men would be attracted to these
"fertile" creatures.  (I apologize if this sounds chauvanistic or offeds
anyone).

In any case, it's a moot point.  Our society, and most individuals in it,
consider YOUTH to be beauty.  And look at all those middle-aged men leaving
their wives for 18 year old coeds... So what's the problem?

I've seen these wonderful pictures of Chrissie, and am sure they don't even
nearly do her justice, so I can easily see both Jules's and Tom's attraction
to her... WHAT A BABE!!!  So she looks young.  So maybe she acts young. (or
did back then)  So what.

Anyone here ever bother reading Nabokov?  He illustrates the attraction
well, and the consequences of getting a bit close to the spider... but damn,
what a beautiful web!  I mean, young girls ARE cute!  It's the
responsibility of the older male NOT to allow that attraction to move toward
a sexual one... atleast in our society.  That was Humbert's folly... he was
weak in the flesh and fell to damnation... poor guy, for where but by God's
grace go I... hmm... 

Just some thoughts thrown out to the kettle... let them stew awhile.

I don't think Jules, nor Tom, advocated pedophilia -- and Lord knows I
don't... I think it's a fine line, in any case... It's something our society
needs to address... i say that as 13 years olds strut down main st. in
miniskirts, halters, makeup, dyed hair, looking older than they are... using
the tools that turn men on... poor fools (the men).  Oh, we're not victims,
by a long shot... but women do know (and learn at a younger age ever day, it
seems) how to use nature to manipulate... nothing wrong with that...
