Mason's response to the Rev'd seems to be a dislike of the Rev'd's early
morning chirpiness rather than dislike of the Rev'd himself. I think
Mason's threat is similar to his snarly "bring me back a likely one and
perhaps I shan't kill you" to Dixon a few lines earlier when Dixon wakes
him up "at the first risen Gull's cry."
