I guess we'd have to trace all this stuff back to Africa, Ireland, the
UK--prob'ly France and Holland too (where else besides?)--true
multiculturalism/melting pot of the best sort.
I was listening to _Way Off in that Jazz_ by Jeff Howell while
typing--it's a truly inspired song, an epitome of what I'm trying to say.
BTW Ted that _I'm Starting to Hate Country But I Still Love Cowboy Songs_
(Asylum Street Spankers, "Spanks for the Memories") that you mentioned is
great--the call and response-type section is alotta fun--the whole album
is good and recorded fully acoustically--no electronic amplification at
all. First heard it on Tampa's great li'l non-commercial community radio
station.

A-and never forget that "they'd just as soon blow you away," same guy.
