| Is anyone aware of any parodies of Pynchon's writing out there? It seems
| to me that quite a while ago, the National Lampoon (when it was offensive,
| as well as funny...instead of just plain offensive), had a letter "from"
| Pynchon in it's letters to the editor column. Yeah, I know none of those
| letters were real, but in any event, I swear that i saw one there parodying
| his writing. I dunno.

In Lawrence Norfolk's novel Lempriere's Dictionary, which is highly
recommended, one scene (the alphabetical drinking game) reads like it
came straight out of Gravity's Rainbow. I don't remember there being
any direct reference to Pynchon or GR in it, but the style was so
dead-on that it had to have been intentional.
