Gopod came into being as a typo, and stuck around  for those who'd like
there to be a cosmic sumpin'r'other as an alternative to the whole Yaweh
daddy of Jesus hairy thunderer dealie. Also a female form: Gopodess.
There's a whole pantheon, of whom I most often invoke the "Parking
Gopodess" and it's about time for a withering burst of flame about how
irrelevant this is to Pynchon. Fools! They can't see how connected it all
is ;-)
