Among themselves they call us gringos, usually, and it's not necessarily a
derogatory term. Mexicans are much to polite to call us dogs. In the
newspapers, they usually refer to us as norteamericanos, although Mexico and
Canada are on the North American continent too. candaians are canadienses.
