The future of the list?

Well,

I find this place to be a hoot. Like a cocktail party, where
everybody is drawn together by a common thread. But, man (or woman) does not
live by Pynchon alone. And we all have other interests which may, or may
not, be relevant. Most are interesting, though.
The crap with jules got old pretty quick. While he may have some
good points, always being right and having to prove it, got old fast.
The i hate amerika crap got old pretty quick. I'm afraid I miss a
lot of relevant stuff because I delete stuff automatically. jules, for one.
The 'talking dog' thread for another.
The thing about a cocktail party is that you can wander, eavesdrop,
and participate when you want to. Here, you are never quite sure what you
are getting into when you open a message.
I like TRP, and most of the list. I met a bunch of listers in
Louisville earlier this year, and it wasn't all TRP. It was a common thread,
but we also had a lot of other stuff in common that we could talk about. I
might go to London and Amsterdam. And wouldn't expect all the conversation
to be TRP in the bars after the sessions. There is sex, drugs, and rock n
roll, as well as literature.
My point here being: This is good. Moderation might be impossible. I
wouldn't want to be the one to do it. Censorship is bad, but I don't have a
problem with quietly unscubscribing certain people.
        My two cents worth.

                         Later,
Mike (not any of the other mikes) B.

P.S. Did this make any sense?
