Sfacim

Vaska, you're quite right w/regard to those regional dialects. One 
Italian friend of mine even goes so far to conclude that "Italian" is 
not a language but an illusion. That same friend states that sfacim is 
Neapolitan dialect and translates somewhat as "fucker" or so in that 
direction of semantics. Sfacimento has been translated by Pynchon in the 
very text. I wonder why nobody saw that and why some people still cry 
for a translation! Amazes me!
