rad show tonight

hey guys i hate to suggest that pynchon would show up at this show in
nyc tonight but if it is indeed true that he wrote that borbedomagus
review it might be plausible that he would check out lee ranaldo
(sonic youth) and blonde redhead tonight at the westbeth theatre in
nyc.

the whole bill is:

lee ranaldo
blonde redhead
panasonic
dj spooky between sets.

this show has both a high snob factor and a really high
accessibility. For example, dj spooky is catch as all fuck but he
still talks about deleuze and shit like that. Or, blonde redhead is
really good at experiments in controlled dissonance ala sonic youth
and they get all this emotional sex into their music AND when they
make song references they do so to weird passages from Black Sabbath
albums. Which is some good shit.

I am in no way affiliated with Smug magazine, the magazine that's
sponsoring the show, but they are from new brunswick, and let me tell
you, they kindof suck... but they are putting together this show, so
they can't be all bad.

nothing ground breaking, really, but a good night of catchy snobbery.
