I think you're right in calling them neologisms. After all, "fake" isn't 
really applicable, or is it? One of my all-time favorites is 
"fecoventillatory collision" in Vineland. Another one is in GR when he 
goes from shinola to Scheinaula ("fake auditorium", m-maybe).
