Great post, Jan.  Hope to hear more from you.  The only point I would
make is that the actual existence of the Thurn and Taxis and the Herero
genocide does not negate their power to induce paranoid responses.  Just
because an event actually occured does not mean it will necessarily
emerge into the realm of reality.  The official denial (or ignorance) of
an historical event may actually render that event even more unreal and
induce paranoia in those who know otherwise.
