Somebody recently brought to my attention a web site,
www.reversespeech.com. "It's done by a
scientist in Australia that claims that people subconciously imbed
messages in their speech that can be revealed by playing the speech
backwards," my correspondent tells me, and continues, "Normally I would
scoff at this, but he includes scores of examples in Real Audio format on
the site. It's very convincing when you listen to it. One example is Neil
Armstrong who says "One small step for mankind....", when played backwards
clearly says: "Man will spacewalk.." Lot's more compelling examples, really
fascinating."

SHOPPER: He entered shop after shop, priced nothing, spoke
no word, and looked at all objects with a wild and vacant stare.
