Found a new vein for my spike, dahlings...

Gotta get your hands on that lock of John Wilkes Booth's hair? The
MDMD in a tizzy? Professional inquiries and stuff that won't wait,
whatever that might be, can be directed to me at my New York Public
     Library address, as

I am happy to play Ariadne within the labyrinth of the NYPL system
and you should consider me always at your service in that regard.
Henceforth, though, I will be improving the shining hour by
subscribing to the list from home. After waffling about an alias
(somebody already took seabisuit, dammit), transparent Chris will be
     easy to spot as

     Chris

P.S. Mitch Ritter tells me that this week's Wild Justice column by
Alexander Cockburn discusses in some detail the exposure of American
Indians to the smallpox virus. Has Cockburn been reading M&D? A-&,
if he isn't Wanda Tinasky, is he Mittelwerk? A couple of columns ago,
he wrote about sodium amytol... He name-drops Adorno... Hmm...
Chris' inquiring mind wants to know the answer to these and many many
other questions. Anyhoo, I'll have a look at the New York Press today
and post about it later from the relative comfort of my own little
     home.

That is--unless Steely is lurking and can answer the question himself.
     Here Steely, heeeeere, boy...
